I had been in agony for the last 4 days, it would be just my luck that I get a toothache right before a holiday weekend. To be fair, its my own fault, my teeth are in terrible condition, but this pain has prompted me to start ​resolving those issues. I called around to so many dentists over the last 4 days, nobody would see me last minute, or nobody was open. This was my last hope, and now I must say, I should have came to him first!

The lady that answered the phone was very nice, I told her I was in pain, and she found a time to fit me in the same day. I was a nervous wreck, I have major anxiety and fear around dentists. So I get in, and the lady who does my initial x-ray is also very nice. I am so sorry that I did not get all the names. Then I meet the man himself. He was very friendly, he did not judge me for my poor teeth, he just talked about things to make me comfortable, but he was also honest with me. You could tell he was trying to put me at ease and that is appreciated.

He kept checking my comfort level, and absolutely did not start until he knew I was okay and that I wouldn't be in a lot of pain. I had to get a wisdom tooth extracted, well rather, the roots of the wisdom tooth because thats all that was left. I honestly was numbed up so well that I didn't feel it, aside from the fact that I knew he was in there.

You can tell that the entire office cares, and they want whats best for you and they want to help you. I will certainly be going back to him to fix all the other issues in my mouth now.

​As good as it gets...Dr. Growney treats me with respect and care. Awesome dentist-I had a previous dental office take out my metal fillings without my permission and charged me a lot of $$ because my insurance didn't cover porcelain. On top of that, the filling broke two separate times, and they told me I had a deep pocket that could not be fixed. Well, in comes Dr. Growney, honest and funny-told me he could fix it, and he did! Minimal pain, very pleasant staff -all of whom are SF natives. I think I finally found a decent dentist!

5 Stars.....I wish I can give him 10 stars! Not only is the best dentist in SF, he's pretty funny and cares alot about his patients especially ME! Dr. G has been my dentist for the last umpting years....whenever I need to see him, he is available!!! He is my knight in shining armor....he really saves me from the excruciating pains of toothaches!  What I love about his work is...he takes the fear out of that dental chair! He is gentle, professional, knowledgeable and most of all, he listens...I really appreciate when medical providers listen!!!! He listens whole heartedly and does all he can to take care of you! His staff is always very friendly, kind and professional! Keep up the great work Dr. Growney!!!! The Nauer Family loves you!

I switched to Dr. Growney last year after a bad experience with another DDS.  I wish I would have done that sooner, as Dr. G is very pleasant with years of clinical experience.  He's very responsive..I had a toothache on New Year's Eve day and called his cell, as the office was closed.  He met me at his office within 20 minutes and was able to relieve the pain until more extensive work could be done.  I have never had a provider dip into his personal time to care for a patient!

5 stars are not enough for Dr. Growney!  He has been my dentist since I was like 10 and now I'm 32.  I do NOT and will never rust anyone to touch my teeth except him.  He's saved me a gazillion times.  I love all you girls in the front too.  I refer everyone I know looking for a dentist to him and they are all happy.  Thank you Dr. Growney.  Don't ever retire, please :))))
